The sonic matter of 'Hit The Lights’ revolves around darkened house grooves punctuated with bursts of noise, lo-fi gritty rhythms, ambient guitar chords, sentimental synths and fleeting field recordings taken in the concrete jungle of Bratislava's suburbia. This newest release from emerging Slovak producer Jacques Kustod, waltzes from krautrock through post-techno to contemporary lo-fi house, maintaining the experimental / noise of the scene he came from.
Along with his two unique immersive compositions the ‘Hit The Lights’ cassette is re-contextualised by Budapest based Opal Tapes companion S Olbricht, the Prague based Lightning Glove band of Klangundkrach collective and the mysterious Still Life, noisy dub jam of fellow emerging Slovak producer Stix.
